While Vernie was zigzagging in the background, Sasugiri managed to use the turret's projectile to destroy the magnetic trap.

And now that Galvren's attention is shifted, and he apparently doesn't quite catch what's happening in his peripheral vision, Sasugiri has free minutes to think about his next move. He frees the backpack from the trap and starts sorting through the contents:
