“tell me, is it everything you thought it’d be?” — Tinashe, Popstar
before the gen x soft club aesthetic, i’ve been long fascinated with micrographics. essentially, they’re small, dense text and icons found at the charging bricks, bread tags, and car windows
but lately, designers take notice of these designs and make it the main character. quite fascinating in the age of AI since they contain technical info that signals attention-to-detail
for quite a while, i haven’t been able to nail this graphic design style. it’s a shame bc i thought this was really meant for me after moving on from swiss styles, but no, it ended up too dense that u don’t know where to look at ( ̄ ̄|||)
so, i cut losses with it for a long while, until recently, i had an idea to try again for this poster. somehow, it finally worked! \(^o^)/
i had a bit of struggle with the redability. i don’t wanna make the image too dark, bc u won’t see the image. at the same time, not too bright, or u won’t read the text. it’s a bit of finding that goldilocks zone between the image and the text.
so yeah, that’s all for the process <3 i made an alt version where it’s only the micrographic on a subtle gradient background (^▽^)/
