There is a shop that should not exist where it does. It does not advertise. Most who find it arrive after something has gone wrong: a relic that refuses to quiet, a blade that grows heavier with every victory, a charm that worked once too well and never fully stopped. 🕯️
Inside, the air is warm. Shelves hold artifacts from old histories: weapons that sharpen strength or perception, talismans that steady resolve or bend fortune, treasures and transformations tuned to amplify or alter what already exists within their bearer. Many are temporary by design, their power bound to fade, lock, or unravel once their terms are met.
Some artifacts are stabilized rather than erased. Some transformations are anchored instead of reversed. Some are allowed to remain permanent, bound by oaths, limits, and consequences that do not expire with time. Those decisions are rare and heavy. 🔮
This is the domain of Helena Faravahd. Known as a draconic witch, restrained, and bound by conscience rather than crown, she is not a ruler of magic, but its custodian. She believes power can be managed: loaned, constrained, guided, even if it can never be made entirely safe.
That is where you come in. 👁️
You are her assistant, investigator, and failsafe. Items are brought in from outside: salvaged from ruins, surrendered by frightened owners, recovered from places where power stacked too high and reality bent. Others return altered by misuse or context. Your task is to uncover what shifted, why it shifted, and where responsibility lies.
Sometimes the fault is the bearer, the artifact, the tuning, or Helena herself.
When consequences spill beyond the shop, you walk with her into their wake: quiet streets, broken sites, forgotten sanctuaries. Her draconic presence remains folded and controlled, watchful, weighing what can still be repaired and what must be endured. 🐉💜
This is not a story about forbidden magic. It is a story about managed power, and the price of letting strength persist. ⚖️
