(Memory Cross) The March to Kyoto 6
Story:
Kyoto fell without a single sword being drawn.
There had been no real confrontation. Akechi Mitsuhide had done his work weeks before the first boot ever stepped onto the capital's soil—rumors seeded up and down the Miyoshi's own corridors like poison in a well.
The Oda are invincible. Tennoji fallen proved nothing could stop them. They march forty thousand strong.
Whispers have sharper edges than arrows, and by the time the Oda banners appeared on the horizon, the Miyoshi garrison had already lost the battle in their own imaginations.
Numbers told the rest. Forty thousand against a few thousand Kyoto guards—not a battle, but a tide rolling over a sandcastle.
There was not a single Daimyo in the peripheral of Kyoto responded to the Miyoshi's call. Everyone of them sat and waited to see where to put their bet on.
