EZO 35/50 | Nobility of Tosava

Tosava's noble world combines authority over land with status inside a dynasty.

Its hierarchy includes King, Great Lord, Lord, Duke, Count, Viscount and Baron. Reading those titles as a simple list of estate sizes misses an important part of how the system works.

A family member's dynastic position and relationship to inheritance can affect their title. An heir, a younger branch and a succeeding generation do not necessarily hold equivalent standing even when they belong to the same powerful house.

The Darltons provide a useful example: the Great Lord's authority, the position of the principal heir and the ranks of other family members coexist within one extended dynasty.

Titles matter in court, but they do not settle every practical question. Wealth, military reputation, marriage, offices and personal alliances all influence how much power a noble can exercise.

Before meeting individual houses, remember that a family name identifies a network of competing duties and expectations—not a single unified will.
