Exploring the Abandoned Doll Workshop (11)

Staring at the porcelain puppet sitting neatly upon my clean living room sofa, I ran a hand through my hair, thoroughly convinced that I had lost my mind. I had actually brought this uncanny, gothic creature—the very one that had nearly snuffed the life out of me—right into my own home. Yet, what confounded me even more was her borderline grotesque submissiveness. The moment I surrendered to my fate by that exit door and tremblingly reached out to clasp her freezing, artificial hand, all her aggression vanished instantly. There was no resistance, no rigid struggle; she simply let her arms go limp, allowing herself to be led like a compliant, human-sized doll, stepping out of that dark workshop and directly into my life. Here, untouched by the room’s ambient warmth, she remained locked in her quiet gaze, as if everything was unfolding precisely within the calculations of those lightless crimson eyes.
