Resolution [25/31] [Matt Skullfire's 10-11k likes challenge] [Sir Morvain by @matt6410] [Reimond]
Reimond is visibly calm... And yet he is in the most tense state. Past exchanges have shown that this will be the last one. And thus, they will both put their strengths to the test.
Stillness.
Morvain does not think the way we used to — he doesn't know speech, so he doesn't speak in his mind either. Despite this, he is considering all options for how, where, and when to attack.
The moment! The silence is not gone, though.
Morvain appears right in front of him. He starts a diagonal strike even before teleporting, but Reimond is not far behind, striking back. The next moment, Morvain releases the weapon and teleports behind him — he realizes that with Reimond's reaction, he has no chance unless he attacks from two sides: the halberd flies from one side, and he punches from the other.
The world, it seems, freezes for Reimond at this very moment. He has a perfect reaction. But what can he do? There are options -
- He can continue with his current action and block the halberd, but face Morvain's attack... but would there be another possibility to strike Morvain?
- Or maybe he can use the momentum of his own attack to turn and strike Morvain himself... which is risky - he won't be able to block the halberd. There's another option, however:
- He can also free one of his hands and try to do both - block the halberd with the free hand and counterattack Morvain, holding the katana with only one hand... yet the strike won't be strong enough...
Fwoosh
The katana cuts through the air... In the next moment, Reimond falls... And so the cut, Morvain's head as well...
