A companion on a directly connected neighbouring stage may join your battle. They keep the event already settled on their own stage, then come to yours and remain there after the fight. This is just an invitation. They cannot abandon an unresolved battle of their own, nor join after yours has begun. One battle per traveller per travel round. A trapped or unconscious companion is unavailable, however enthusiastically you can nominate them
