ðPUMPKIN PLASHð
The Deadwood Hollow was bleeding, and the forest floor drank greedily. Thick, viscous amber sapâor perhaps something far more sinisterâdripped from the twisting, thorn-covered branches, forming jagged letters in the mist: Pumpkin Plash. Massive jack-o'-lanterns, their faces carved into eternal, glowing scowls, lined the muddy path. They oozed the same toxic orange sludge from their jagged mouths, pooling into the roots of dead trees while crows watched silently from the canopy above. The air was heavy with the cloying scent of rot, damp earth, and burnt sugar, an oppressive warning to any who dared trespass. A lone traveler in a heavy, tattered cloak crept down the winding trail, their only defense a small, flickering lantern held tight against the encroaching gloom. They tried to step lightly over the serpentine vines that writhed along the ground, but the path was slick with the glowing "plash," splattering their boots with every step. As the stranger drew closer to the towering gourds, the hollow eyes of the nearest pumpkin flared with a sudden, intense heat. The traveler froze as the sticky liquid on the ground began to bubble, realizing too late that the 'plash' was not just sap, but the awakening blood of the cursed groveâand the feast had just begun.
